This art piece represents an Inupiaq dream. Animals, an Inupiaq woman, and common foods we eat in our region are all swimming within a dream. English is the language we know, but the idea behind this piece is "What would it look like to dream in Iñupiaq instead of English?". A common motif in neighboring Native tribes is that our native language is not dead, it's just sleeping, and we need to wake it up.
